Developed within Assemblage’s creative practice infrastructure, The Cube, it utilizes 32-speaker sound technology to create an immersive experience. The piece, performed by Chase, McArthur, and third-year acting student Oscar Baldwin, delves into the interplay of live composition, spatial sound, and performance, offering a unique perspective on audience engagement.
McArthur's involvement in 'Oranges and Lemons' marks a significant return to Adelaide, building upon his long-standing association with Flinders Drama Centre and local audiences. His work on Howard Barker’s 'The Ecstatic Bible' at the 2000 Adelaide Festival further cements his connection to the centre.
Barker's Legacy and Ensemble Creation
Following 'Oranges and Lemons', McArthur transitions into the director's chair for 'Wrestling with Catastrophe', a special ensemble project celebrating Barker's 80th birthday.
